Hossam Allam

Backstory

A serial entrepreneur and impact investor who has built or invested in dozens of high-growth startups worldwide, and Managing Partner at Climate Resilience Fund, which backs nature-positive startups. He also co-founded and still Chairs Acasia (formerly Cairo Angels): an angel syndicate, venture fund, and startup incubator.

Hossam serves on the Boards of 9 startups, a precious metals exploration company, and Egyptian conglomerate Hassan Allam Holding in which he previously was a Managing Director for 11 years. He has chaired the GIZ-backed National Employment Pact and served on the Boards of NGOs Education for Employment and Endeavor Egypt. He previously worked for Shell International first in field operations, then later brokering and developing multi-billion natural gas deals between the Middle and Far East. He is well-versed in global best practices of corporate and ESG governance and is a published commentator on entrepreneurship and the environment.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Oceanography from Southampton University, UK, and an MBA from London Business School.
